There has been a request for my carpet dye recipe so here goes. Use at your own risk!
I used Rit brand fabric dye obtained from the grocery store. I could not find those colors both in either liquid or dry.
Products used:
1 - 8 oz. bottle Rit Liquid TAN (no. 16) dye.
1 - 1-1/8 oz. package Rit Dry GOLDEN YELLOW (no. 42) dye .
I mixed according to package directions but did not add any salt. Use 8 oz. of hot water to dissolve the dry dye.
I then mixed the two together in a 1/3 Golden Yellow/ 2/3 Tan mixture. I added enough water the mixture to produce about two quarts of liquid dye when mixed together. This will be a concentrated liquid which will produce the desired results. There will be 4 oz. of Golden Yellow left over with this recipe.
TIP: If you buy two bottles of liquid Tan and mix it with the entire 8 oz. of Golden Yellow mixture it will make one gallon of carpet dye. That way you will get twice as much dye for the cost of one addition bottle of Tan dye. Saves money by not wasting 4 oz. of Golden Yellow dye if you think you will be able to use it.
Use a sprayer bottle to apply to the faded carpet and brush into the knap with a short-bristle carpet brush. Allow to dry overnight with car doors open if possible. My results were very satisfactory. Over time fading may occur but there will be plenty of dye solution to do it again. The mixture has a long shelf life---at least five years.
