The flap on the end of the Reatta sun visor is prone to breaking loose from the main part of the visor and hanging down.

The following is what can be done to repair a broken flap on your sun visor.

What you will need:

  • Plastic milk jug or similar plastic material
(I used a heavier plastic from a car wash detergent bottle)

  • Scissors to cut the plastic

  • Needle nose pliers to move the plastic around in the visor

  • Phillips screwdriver to remove the visor

Repair instructions:

  1. Take the visor out of the car by removing the 3 screws that mount it to the ceiling.

  2. Unsnap the wire harness.

  3. Use the scissors to cut a banana slice from the milk carton about 5" long.

  4. Round the ends of the plastic slice to avoid having a sharp edge.

  5. Feed the plastic thru the small hole in the visor that the mounting bracket comes out of.

  6. Work it around to go over where the break is.

  7. When you are satisfied with how the plastic fits, pull the plastic back, cut off about 1/2" and reinsert.
(This way there will be no plastic sticking out of the visor.)

  8. Remount the visor and the repair is done.

Time spent less then 20 minutes. Cosmetically the visor looks very good.
