  1. Long time no see folks! After just over a year, I am finally getting to trying to fix this problem. After a good bit of pain and suffering I finally got to it. The infamous Splice # 311. It does look pretty suspect.

  2. I had a 2001 SLK 320 I purchased new. I really loved that car, but after I retired I wanted to play radio, so I purchased a 2008 Caravan and loaded it with Amateur radios and traveled around the country in it. Lots of fun, sold the SLK, then got interested in old cars in 2010 and purchased a 1980 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith II, sold it 2 years ago. It appears my oldest son has commandeered the 91 Reatta hardtop for his highway car. Perhaps I will look into renewing my love of the SLK.

  3. If my 'vert ever gets a repaint I could paint it that color... But also it's a '90, but it sure would draw some interest!

  4. '91 Polo green coupe is the one color I would buy. I'm not actively looking but if I fell in my lap at the right price I might get one.

  5. Well Friday, Oct 27, 2023, the 2000 Eldorado went into storage (garage). Put seafoam in the tank, filled it up, detailed the interior and exterior, hooked up the trickle charger, put a cover on it, and said goodby until April 2024. Drove 790 miles for 2023! I plan to attend the 2024 Riviera Owners Assoc Nat'l meet driving the Eldorado. My objective is to re-visit with old friends even though I don't own a Riv any longer (probably the last ROA meet I will attend). Road trip will be just under 2000 miles round trip. Will put new tires on prior since current tires are over 10 years old. Also, the current tires are previously owned Reatta tires I stuck on when I sold my '91 Polo Green coupe many years ago. They are actually one size smaller than standard Eldorado tires, but I just couldn't throw them away being a Yankee thrift kinda guy.

  6. Looks to be about the size of a Reatta. If you were comfortable your Reatta, you probably won't have a problem with this one. Guarantee it's a smoother ride and more powerful, though. Beautiful looking machine. Hope you can acquire it in the near future.

  7. There are two flasher "cans located up high behind the dash to the right of the steering wheel. To do a simple test turn on your emergency flashers to se if both turn signals flash the same. If they do then it is likely the directional flasher can. Going from memory the cans are in a bracket high up and can be reached from the bottom of instrument panel. Turn on the directional and reach up to "feel" for the can. having the directional on you will feel the click and know that is the one to remove. best advice is the leads to the can are long, so when you remove the bad can bring the cans down lower for the next time should you need to do it again.
