  1. Padgett and I were friends for many many years. I knew he was very ill - I last heard from him in May when I was planning a trip up to see him. I am now trying to locate his son, so I can get a few boxes of my things I had stored at Padgett's house. If anyone knows how to do that, please contact me dr. sarah.gordon@gmail. com Padgett was one of the kindest most generous human beings I have ever known. We worked and played together for many year. We camped together, travelled, enjoyed dinners. When I was at my lowest, he came and helped me through it. I am stunned to hear of his passing, expected but not expected. He loved his cars. One of them he bought because I liked it :). I will miss him greatly.

  2. Me and my Bride went out for breakfast yesterday. After about 100 miles we stopped in Cuba Missouri and had a wonderful breakfast. Then we continued our journey on Missouri back roads that are curvy and hilly. The car is wonderful. The Temp gauge got almost to the red when I stopped at a light, but went back down once I started moving . The outside temperature was 101 F, and 72 inside. I love this car.

  4. I''ll take a guess at what might be the problem(s). The headlights might have rounded out crankarms and when the rain gets on them it works as a lubricant allowing the shaft to spin inside them. when it stopped raining and the water dried out there is enough friction inside the rounded out crankarms to raise the doors. Another theory is the headlight motors have bad spots on the commutator and the rain somehow made that worse. Seems unlikely that it would happen to both motors at the same time. I think the wipers continuing to run might be caused by a bad parking mechanism inside the wiper motor that allowed them to continue to run. Seems odd that would happen with the key off but that is the only explanation that I have.

  5. Thanks for testing the '88. The test results being similar to mine tells me that mine is working properly for an '88 model.

  6. So I know it's been a while but all problems seemed to be fixed now it ended up being the CRTC. The one that was in the car was out of a 89 riv. I went to Gibson's junkyard and got a CRTC out of a 88 reatta put it in the car and fixed the problem.

  7. Mine does the same. If you get the car moving just a little and tap the brake, I think you will find that the seat belt will be locked and you won't be able to pull it out while holding the brake pedal down. I don't know it for a fact, but I believe the seat belt relies on inertia (maybe a pendulum) to lock it. Try that and let us know what happens. If you still don't trust it get another seatbelt.
