  1. This sounds like the case seeing all of the original owners drawings and ramblings in the manual relate to the AC compressor and the BCM. This weekend ill try putting the original relays back in the relay center and see if I can get the compressor to kick in. Ill keep this thread updated with some results

  2. Here are two things the $50k diagnostic machine apparently doesn't know. 1. There are no codes for a blown head gasket. 2. The camshaft position sensor won't cause the engine to die, even if a code is set. I wonder if they call it a $50k machine because that is what they paid for it or because that is what they have made off their customers from using it?

  3. Hats off to Mercedes for using a cover under the engine............so tired of seeing fluid stains on the garage floor or driveway.

  4. My wife's 2018 Chrysler Town and Country mini van has a whole body panel under the car. Their is a circular access panel for the oil plug. The cannister in a housing on the top of the engine is also on her car. That seems to become more popular in later year cars. On her car it's really quite quick an easy. Her car uses 0x20 synthetic oil.

  5. I won't say I will never buy from them again but I will say they will be a lost resort if I do. I still use their catalog to lookup parts but I don't like their shipping policies. The latest thing with the struts is just another reason not to like them.

  6. Rock Auto has the rear struts listed again, but this time they are listed as "out of stock, notify me when available". I am losing respect for them. What a company...

  7. I was saddened by the news of Padgett's passing. I've suspected it for some time but wasn't certain since I could find no obituary. He has contributed so much to ROJ and the Reatta community. He was a great source of knowledge about the Buick Reatta, especially the electronics. He will be missed.

  8. I am deeply saddened by this news. I agree that Padgett was most colorful in his posts (I, too, had to look up what some of his acronyms meant), but you could generally rely on an informative response - often over my head. We've lost a major contributor to the Reatta family. And, as a Vietnam veteran, we owe him our gratitude for his service to our country. Rest in peace our friend.

  9. Based on his posts and replies it was quite obvious that he was a very intelligent guy. I do agree it was fun trying to decipher some of his acronyms. I usually ending up asking my 24-year-old grandson what they meant! I have to say I'm proud of any individual that served in country (my brother served 2 tours '70-'73). RIP Padgett.

  10. Never met the guy but it got to be a fun game trying to decipher his posts and acronyms. He is missed not only here but a wide variety of forums and organizations. RIP

  11. As I stated on the Reatta AACA Forum it appears that a long time poster and a real friend of anyone interested in cars has passed. From what I was able to find out he was dealing with a cancer. He was a wounded decorated Viet Nam vet. I enjoyed his posts and always knew that Padgett got interested in any car problem I had it would get solved. He will be missed not just on this forum but many others. RIP Padgett...
