I went on Amazon and looked at the invoice where I bought a set of Monroe 71966 Sensa-Trac struts for my Reatta in 2014 (22,000 miles ago). There was no -ST on the end of the part number. They are in fact being sold from Marck's order. I don't know why they would do that unless they intend to produce more struts to replace what Marck ordered. Either way they are screwing Marck by cutting his prices and taking away his potential customers for the struts he ordered.
I am not at home so I cannot check but do your struts have the labeling on the lower portion? I think they were spec'd as the O.E. Spectrum, but I see them being mentioned as SensaTrac (an upgrade?) which could also be the ST?
Honestly, I do not know all the interplay between sensors and programming and overrides and redundancies. I doubt any one sensor will keep the closed loop from happening, but maybe the O2?? It simply is in the interest of emissions to having it run in some sort of feedback mode whenever possible. I was surprised by the result as well and I may try it again tomorrow with a cool engine.
When mine did that last year, it was the Prom itself that had the issue. It was in a thread about the spare parts LN3 plus a supercharger. It had me chasing my tail, switching ECM's, switching Proms where it would settle down only to rear its ugliness again. The Prom itself had to be changed.
Welcome the the forum Marck. Thanks for the update. I hope this situation turns out well for you and all involved. Don't let this dampen your spirits for supplying Reatta parts. This may be a setback but the demand for Reatta parts is only going to increase over time.
