  1. That's good news. I'll bet the problem was a bad connection. The ABS valves seldom give trouble.

  2. This is what I could find that might allow you to test the valves. Is this what you need? There are about a dozen pages in the service manual for troubleshooting ABS codes 22 and 23. You really need a manual to do it right.

  3. I think I am a prime example of knowing enough to get in trouble but not enough about why or how. Maybe Ryan will bail me out? I don't find anything in the dozens of items in the Prom that deals directly with mileage. There is a place to change the flow rate of the injectors, which allows for different flow rates to be accommodated. It that is tweaked, it might change the fueling calculation for display, but in this case, the numbers are identical. There are two tools in the TunerPro software. The "compare" tool allows the user to select a another calibration to compare too and it will show any difference between what you are working on with the reference item. It is a little graphic of a balance scale which can be clicked on and off. That is what I did for each of the dozens of items. There is another tool which I don't normally use because I haven't found the need or apparently understand it. It is called a difference tool and it will compare two calibrations at the byte location level. Despite the apparent sameness of the Proms, the difference tool says there are over 13.5k bytes difference?? It may be as simple as the counting starting one byte different or something like that. I just do not know at this point. Does your '88 display data properly? If so, what Prom i.d. is displayed?

  6. Nice find on that pinout diagram, Ronnie! Thank you. I removed the valve body cover and had a peek inside. It looks a lot like the pic below of the Teves Mark 2 valve body from a Jaguar. With the Ohm Meter, I checked the continuity of each of the connections. They had resistance between 6.4 - 7.0 Ohms. Except for one, which read 4.8 Ohms, but I found no open circuit, thankfully. Those ribbon cables look pretty flimsy though. If I were to take out the valve body, I would replace them with wire. It was getting late, so I didn't remove the valve body which would require a lot more work, especially since there didn't appear to be any broken connections. There wasn't a gasket or seal of any kind on the cover, which I thought was kinda odd. Anyway, the valves looked good (no rust) so apparently, water getting in there isn't an issue. I pressurized the accumulator by pumping the brake pedal (engine off) till I felt some pushback. I took it for a quick spin, and to my delight, the ABS light which has plagued me since I bought the car, was OFF. Yippee! Not sure what happened. I may have reseated a crummy connection when I was poking around the ribbon cables. Anyway, we'll see how long it lasts. Thank you for your help. I learned a great deal more about my Reatta. My next repair will be to replace the nearly disintegrated vac hoses on the speed control. The computer is prompting me to fix it far too often.

  7. I had two antennas repaired by Barney. He charges about $70.00 each plus freight. I had two that were broke so I sent them both in. Saved a bit on freight that way.

  8. I don't know where the fuse would be located. Barney Eaton can repair your antenna at a reasonable price. He can be contacted at: barneyeaton1@gmail.com I've never had any experience with the rebuild kits.

  9. A 1991 Maui Blue Reatta showed up at my door Sunday May 28,2023. My 91 Gunmetal Gray Hardtop wanted a Topless Beauty to share space with. Car has 12,750 miles on it and in excellent condition. Problems, radio has no output, lights all light up but no sound, no sound from the cassette either. The change dispenser is missing the guts, the driver vent has a broken tab that allows you to turn off the vent, the right side sun visor clip is broken, tires are 8 years old. I checked the radio fuse on the drivers side panel and it is okay. I checked the big service manual, but keep getting lost in it. Is anyone willing to give me some sage advice on where to look for connectors/fuses/etc. I spent my working life repairing radios and radars, and still remember how to use a multi meter, and read normal schematics. These in the Service Manual will take me a bit to get use to. thanks to all of you. Jim

  10. Once upon a time I came so close to purchasing a '91 Reatta convertible the exact same colors as yours. I kick myself continuously that I didn't. Great looking Reatta! Sorry I don't have any answers to your mechanical questions. Good luck with it, though.
