In three yards within 100 miles of my house there are at least 10. 6-7 of them are within 5 miles. Rivs at least that many, same distance with 6-7 within 5 miles.
There's a lot about it on the internet. I wouldn't worry about it. It's not a problem unless you disturb it. I wouldn't do anything to get it in the air like grinding it. We probably got 100 more times exposure by doing brake jobs on our cars in the old days. About all the old cars with brake shoes had asbestos in the brake linings. When you took the brakes drums off they were full of the brake dust. No telling how much I was exposed to the asbestos in brake lining material on the brake shoes. In the garage where I worked we had a machine that would grind the brake shoes to fit the radius of the brake drums after the drums were turned. If you were grinding the shoes for a big truck the dust would get so bad in the garage that we would turn on a big fan to blow it out the door. That was the good ole days. 🙂
I chiseled an 8" vertical and 48" horizontal hole through the bathroom tile, concrete, and lath a few days ago. Plumber came today and cut away the return pipe and 90* knuckles. He replaced the return pipe and knuckles with PVC along with pitching it just a little better than the old pipe. I then cut cement board to fit and secured it place this afternoon. Tomorrow I will buy tile mastic and adhere the tile to the cement board.....I actually found enough extra color-correct tile stored in my cellar. Saturday will be grout day.
My wife is a worker. She actually did wash every river rock. When we built the foundation of our house, I laid the cement blocks, and she mixed all the concrete mortar by hand in a wheelbarrow. We did all of our plumbing, copper water lines and PVC waste and vent. Did so much more but the major electrical was by contractor.
I took my vert to Tower Rock Saturday. This is on the Mississippi River near Chester, Illinois. The river is low now that people can walk out to the rock in the river bed.
Tomorrow is the 7th wedding anniversary for my wife and I. We were celebrating tonight so I washed up the reatta and we went in style with the top down 🙂.
I'm always amazed at how good the 32 year old paint shines up.
Interesting, a fake convertible top on a Reatta. Usually only see that on Caddies and Lincolns although I did see one on a Chevy Corsica and a Mercury Topaz😖
It looks like it was a factory request, or aftermarket, however the Buick logo is upside down and I've tried to check and I'm pretty sure there is a real roof under it ( I would assume it's probably very rusty by now)
I washed my car last Friday. The farmers are harvesting crops around here, so dust is easily accumulated. We are in peak fall colors. I’ve seen a few folks from Minnesota post snow covered Reattas. Burrrrrr
