  1. Update on the control system problem which pretty much confirms my previous post about the chip being bad or unable to communicate. Acting on Ryan's suggestion after receiving some new chips, I loaded the problem child S/C 1.4 tune on a new chip. After installing, the car started and ran perfectly. Going through diagnostics while the engine warmed up, everything looked normal. When it reached closed loop, there was a change in the sound of the engine, but it all went smoothly. I then shut down and installed the suspected problem chip and even though it started immediately, I could tell something was "off". Going to diagnostics showed "no ECM data" again, so I suspect it is running in a limp mode. According to Ryan, this means the ECM cannot communicate with the chip. All this chasing the tail of the real problem, looking in the wrong place and blaming the Memcal or the Moates adapter, was at least instructional although time consuming. Maybe I can iron out some of the small details before it is time for it to sleep for the winter.👍

  3. Well rats. I didn't see this until now. I got it all back in there and left the rusty pulsator. It was clean inside.... So I left it... Got in, Turned the key. And POOF!! It cranked and ran as if it had never been left. HAPPY DAY! Thank you all for your guidance. Now, my next issue --ill start a new post after I review the articles

  4. Back in the day, I too carried a Service Manual in my car when I drove from Illinois to California in my red '64 Corvette Coupe 45 years ago. The coupe has no trunk but a large area behind the seats so I managed to cram into that space a hydraulic floor jack, tool box, misc fluids and 2 beautiful cats in a carrier. Almost forgot, my wife was included but not in the storage area instead in the passenger seat.............. She was a saint as the Corvette had factory side pipes which were kind of loud................

  5. Here is my 2 cents worth. If you are planning on staying and want to minimize work, stones or pebbles or gravel is the way to go. If cost is the issue, then bark chips or gorilla hair works fine for 2 or 3 years. Of course, a combination of the two would also be a nice compromise. A landscape architect could draw a plan which could feature a dry creek made of rocks with gravel/pebble pathways through your plantings with the rest of the yard covered in bark chips or gorilla hair. I would resist rubber as it may look too artificial. Have fun with this project as it will enhance your property. After all, the Reatta needs to look good at home !!!

  6. Looks like Delphi FE0039 is the kit and FE00115 is just the pump but sock end looks a little different. 039 has larger openings.

  7. Is easy: in tank has a large connection on one end for the sock. Inline has small hose connections on both ends.

  8. Carter lists it for a Reatta so you will probably be ok.
