Just had these made. Plates for the front strut mounts to connect adjustable front coilovers. I'm more than happy to share the file if anyone wants it.

As I still look for possible reasons for the black molding, I just noticed the obvious. The black molding starts at the nose of the Reatta which accentuates the aerodynamic look of the front end and allows it to flow along the car to the rear end.2 points

I'd look/feel from the bottom. Cable operated clamp may not have released. BTW I have been able to use a camera to take a picture of something I can't see.1 point

Have you explored removing the upper garnish molding to see if the bottom of the pin is visible? If so, perhaps the pin can be pushed/tapped out.1 point
