  1. Got caught in a rain down pour 2 weeks ago coming home from a cruise-in. A few days later I detailed the exterior of my Reatta including the white wheels and the inside edges of the hood and trunk. Took me less than an hour...easy peesy. The Eldo takes so much longer.

  2. I agree. The Reatta is easy to wash. Tires and wheels are the hardest part for me. I use my battery powered leaf blower to remove most of the water before using the chamois to speed up drying it.

  3. I drove my Reatta about 220 miles today. the weather was beautiful. I knew I had to do it today because rainy weather is moving in for most of the weekend. We had a great time. We took the scenic route of back roads that pass through a lot of small towns. While driving from red light to red light in one of the small towns I decided to look at my gauges. I noticed that the temp reading was about 210. Not really overheating but was unexpected. I have an aftermarket fan control that should turn the cooling fans on high at 190 and cool the engine back down. That isn't happening for some reason. Maybe the relay I added has gone bad or the temp sensor I added has gone bad. I didn't feel like troubleshooting it after the long drive so I will have to check it out another day.

  4. Today (9/9 at 10am EDT) the Generac tech performs an annual maintenance/tune up on my whole house generator. Ever since he installed a new voltage regulator last October, it has been running fine. We had a couple of black outs over the summer, and it kicked on and off with no problems. The generator is now 19 years old, so fingers crossed he won't encounter any issues.

  5. I agree Ron. Of all the cars I have ever owned the Reatta is the easiest to clean. The only thing that slows me down is the after market rear spoiler I installed.

  6. Quick update friends. My mechanic finally had the time to get the car in the air and start working on the gas tank replacement. The good news, he'll get the tank done. He had a bit of a challenge converting the steel lines on the sending unit to the nylon lines on the car, but I'm confident he'll succeed. The bad news... the rear cross member is so rusty it's pretty much shot. The steering rack is leaking, valve covers are leaking, a transmission line needs replacement, and he probably hasn't found all of the bad news yet. I'm left wondering what to do with a car I love, that has a body that is in pretty good shape, but mechanicals that are failing. It pains me to think I might have to get it back and park it in my shop for who knows how long while the parts continue to get harder and harder to find. I can find parts for my 64' and 66' barracudas easier than I can the Reatta haha. What would you do? I've run out of garage stalls so picking up a donor parts car is likely out of the question, no need to ask my wife that question 😂

  7. The square modular instrument cluster/dash was something I loved about the 1980 Monte Carlo that I bought new. Then it fell off into my lap on the way home from the dealer.
