  1. What do the gear and lockup indicators show in diagnostics? Sometimes the feel is different than reality and at some points, the TCC lockup can actually occur in third gear as well as 4th (overdrive). Since this was an existing problem and you have addressed a couple of items that are the first thing to try, it is likely it will need professional help.😢 You can disconnect and plug the vacuum for the modulator as well as pop off the cable end for the TV cable at the throttle and see what happens. No vacuum to the modulator will increase internal line pressure and no TV cable will cause a shift as early as possible. Just an experiment to see if they are involved at all.

  2. So I have owned my 91 vert for about 4 months and 1500 miles. It is truly a smooth, enjoyable cruiser. I will say reading about the various mechanical problems and challenges experienced by some owners makes me a tad nervous as I am not necessarily a hack mechanic!!! Hard to imagine that the sticker was $38,000 back when new. Add state sales taxes and it would have rung the bell at over $40k before the discounts. Mine was one of the cars registered to the company at Flint when they were beginning the experiences with the electric Chevy. My understanding a fleet of Reattas were deployed to simulate the amount of miles that the electric vehicle would be capable of. It was then owned for about 25 years by a Buick executive. One quirk is that the hood light only comes on if other parking or driving lights are on...seems somewhat counterintuitive to me??

  3. Generally speaking, the vacuum modulator controls shift firmness and the Throttle Valve cable modifies the shift timing. The governor does have an effect on fluid flow based on ground speed and rpm. What speed are we talking about? 2nd to 3rd or 3rd to 4th, which is way up around 50mph. Does shifting manually have any effect?

  4. What happens when it comes time to shift out of second gear? Does it stay in second, or seem to go into neutral and quit pulling?

  5. I lock all my cars...every time/anywhere. I even lock the '00 Eldo when it is in my locked garage, I lock the '91 Reatta when it is in my igloo. It's just an old habit of mine going back decades. The '14 Caddy ATS locks itself as I walk away from it.

  6. I will ask her. Honestly I really didn't care, as electric shavers shouldn't have wheels, and electric motors should remain powering thing like air compressors and kitchen appliances as far as I am concerned. Basically EVs interest me about as much as having a lobotomy performed upon myself does.
