  2. We got a major blizzard here in Norfolk - very rare for us to get heavy snow, and this piled up maybe a foot. Understand that 1 inch is enough to close schools here. My small pickup truck has terrible traction in snow, so I decided to use the Reatta for travel, trusting the FWD, wide track, and four-wheel disc brakes to do a better job. Of course, I will have to clear the snow off first.

  3. Here is the scan of the 1988 Reatta window sticker. Interesting to see the list of equipment - and only the one option (16-way power seats).

  4. Sunday my daughter and I took a trip through the rugged mountains along the Tennessee/North Carolina border to view the Fall leaf colors - which were absolutely beautiful. One stretch of highway 209 called the Rattler had about 250 curves with only a few places to pull off if something happened to the car so I had concerns too (but I didn't let her know). The round trip was 295 miles. Before we got all the way home she was on her cellphone telling her friends about what a great road car the Reatta is on the back road trips and what a great time she had. That made me smile. The Reatta ran flawless on the roads through the forest and on the interstate as we made our way home. "Hand crafted luxury for two" is a good moniker for the Buick Reatta.

  5. I have spent the week in Laughlin, Nevada which is about 35 miles from my home in Arizona. My wife and 4 of her sisters are using our home for a "sister" reunion. I have been staying at a local casino all week and tonight I went to dinner at a local fast food joint. One of the workers was emptying the outside trash and complimented the 88 silver Reatta I own. He said, "It' been a long time since I've seen one of those". "I'm from Iowa and all of the Reattas have been eaten away from rust"! He looked to be about 20. Nice kid with a good eye! And no; I have not won squat diddly. I budget $20/day for the slots and lost it all. :D

  6. My daughter and I had a wonderful trip in the Reatta today. We took a six hour drive to take in the beautiful Fall colors. We began our trip by driving 70 miles to Bald River Falls at the West end of the Cherohala Skyway near Tellico Plains, TN. Although water levels are lower than normal due to the drought, the water falls were still beautiful. Bald River Falls We had about a 20 minute delay as the emergency personnel retrieved a motorcycle off the side of an embankment because a motorcycle rider had ran off the road. Many riders have lost their lives on the stretch of road and the Dragon may have claimed another life today. It isn't uncommon to have a motorcycle pass you on the inside as you go around the curves. We got passed in a curve twice today. The motorcycle they pulled from the embankment was mangled and twisted so bad it was almost unrecognizable. I have to wonder if he might have been one of the bikes that passed us earlier. Get out and drive those Reattas! Post your stories here. Photos of the Skyway:

  8. Dave, (the staff member at the museum) said he saw a lot of similarities between one of the Corvette prototypes and a Reatta. At first I didn't think so but now I think I see some similarities between the Reatta and the Corvette after all when I compare the photos below. I don't want to offend any Corvette owners but... between this model Corvette (1984) and my Reatta I actually think the Reatta looks much better. I wish GM had given the Reatta the Corvette horsepower.
