  1. 2seater is probably the only guy that removed manifolds while the engine is in the car. But I think he is deer hunting. When I did the engine swap we disconnected at the connector and did the manifold removal with the engine out.

  2. This photo is from a trip Kat and I took yesterday to the Sequatchie Valley, about 50 miles from our house. One of the most peaceful places I know of. Where the photo was taken is so far out and away from everything you hear no noise except for an occasional mooing of a cow in the distance. Not even the sound of a road or highway. The fall colors were at their peak there. I rarely drive on gravel roads but with no cars around I could drive about 10-15 miles per hour and enjoy the view. Another great day in my Reatta.

  3. This is the little town where I live. About 6000 people and about a dozen traffic lights. Just the way I like it. I posted this on the other forum to.

  4. You guys in the land of salt sure have a lot of problems with steel brake lines and fittings. Around here that is seldom a problem. You would think the car makers would have anticipated that being a problem with the brake and fuel lines and used a different metal that wouldn't be so prone to rust. I guess there decisions are based more on cost than longevity.

  5. Good for you that you got so many parts off of it. I saw it and actually thought that you should have taken the parts of the Red you bought from me and put it on that car, but it still worked out and two Reattas made one nice one. On another front it was a real non Reatta week for me as my youngest daughter asked me to do an oil change and while doing that I told her she needed an alignment and new tires. As luck would have it I found a set of Michelins that were the correct size and only one month old. Less then 1/2 price of new and off to Firestone for an alignment. The work was done and they told her she needed brakes so that project looks to be next week. Then my neighbor comes over and says the serpentine belt is squealing on his son's 2003 Pontiac Sunfire. I went to get a belt and thought I was all set. Got the car in the air took off the driver's side wheel and plastic shrouds and saw that the tensioner had come loose. 3o minutes later tensioner is tightened down and shrouds and wheel back on and all is good. Dave's Garage is now closed for the weekend. Dave's Detail Shop opens tomorrow for a wash, wax, and inside cleaning of the Black. Hope no one distracts me...

  7. Off topic/non-Reatta event: You folks might remember my mentioning that I have a "whole house" Generac generator and a basement sump pump. Last week of October we had 3 days of rain and lost electricity. First time ever the generator sputtered and died leaving sump pump inoperative. I ended up with over 2 inches of water in various places within my basement including my Buick/Cadillac man cave. Couldn't get a commitment from New England Generator co. for a time/date to come to the house to fix said generator...and gave me attitude to boot! Called Mass Generator co. (I'm not even a client) and they sent a tech by 7am next morning. He replaced 2 parts and questioned why NE Generator wouldn't have spotted this during their annual May maintenance process. Generator now runs like a top and Mass Generator co. is now my new maintenance company! Diane and I had to throw out a room of carpeting, destroyed furniture, etc., etc. Luckily, washer, dryer and water heater are on blocks and not affected. Furnace ok, too. Due to water damage caused by "outside water", I can't file a house insurance claim. I don't have flood insurance (wicked way too expensive at $4k to $5k/per year because I'm near the ocean) so all expenses will be out of pocket. Just a day in the life....
