  1. That is a really nice looking Reatta. You were wise to keep it instead of sell it at the price you were asking.

  3. Assembly Line Data Link: is a serial (CCC was 600 baud, P4 (Reatta) is 8192) LAN that ties all of the devices in a car together. Is redundant in that it makes a big loop around the car so that if any one device fails it still works (why the under dash access port says "Do Not Remove", it completes the loop). Could go on for a few hours about serial LANs (not 802.11). Won't.

  4. Agree, GM says record codes, clear codes, see what comes back.

  5. I don't remember anyone ever having that code before. I read the FSM and it seems to be saying the ECM isn't receiving a proper signal from the MAF. The FSM does have a testing procedure but it isn't really a simple one that could be described here. If you have a FSM check section 8D1-46 for testing instructions. If it were me I would clean the electrical connection to the MAF, clear the codes, and wait and see if the engine control warning and code comes back.

  6. Dealerships in the '80 and '90s probably had diagnostic scanners that would interface with the Reatta computers via the ALDL connector and some OBD 1 scanners would work if you could find one. As long as the CRT is working I see no need to use the ALDA connector other than to check ABS codes. I think the Reatta onboard diagnostics will tell you as much most scanners.

  7. I'm not a fan of stock Reatta wheels but on that black car with raised white letter tires I think the wheels look really good.

  8. That is the range. Anywhere between .38v and .42v is OK. Should also be over 4v at WOT. A bad wire causing the signal to drop to zero can cause the engine to die. A high value makes the computer think your foot is on the gas and will idle up.

  9. I just watched a video on the Teves Braking system. It describes the components and how it works.
