  1. The FSM lists the 881 as the correct bulb for the Fog Lights.

  2. Check the vacuum lines near the master cylinder. One of them could have a hole in it.

  3. I checked and the DELCO 880 lamps are now out of production but SYLVANIA has the 880 but not sure if the SYLVANIA might be the DELCO 880. But check your local parts store for the 880 Lamp. I bought the last 880 in my area from three different parts houses. My fog lights are working fine but the old "WHAT IF" comes into play then it will be worth the $11 for a spare lamp.

  4. Think the only difference between a 880 and an 881 is the angle of the plug. Would be a minor rewire to transition the fogs from "with taillights" to "alone with ignition"

  5. You were lucky you only had one snap off, I had four! Oh well, I'm sure most all Reatta owners have experienced this among other issues when dealing with a car of this age.

  6. I believe the 90* type connection is correct, but beyond that, the specs are the same. I too use led's in the fogs, license plate, all interior courtesy, backup and underhood/trunk lights. The fog lights are glorified marker lights IMHO, and the switch to led's makes them more noticeable during the day. I do wish the other almost 30 bulbs didn't also illuminate when used as DRL's but I never looked into defeating that circumstance.

  7. We are lucky here in East TN to have lots of fun places to drive with lots of curves. There is a place closer to me called the Devil''s Triangle that is like the Dragon but the road isn't as wide and the pavement isn't as good. For that reason most people prefer the Dragon.

  8. Looks like a lot of fun - but scary. I'll add "the Dragon" to my bucket list.

  9. The chart could be wrong. I made it. The difference is the 880 bulb has a straight electrical connection and the 881 has a 90 degree connector. I have 881 bulbs in my Reatta. Which is the correct bulb?

  10. I thought the 881 was the correct bulb for the fog lights. Am I wrong about that?

  11. There is a speed limit. I think it's 30 MPH but on busy days like the weekends it would be almost impossible to enforce. I doubt the police even try because they know everyone is there because they want to go through the curves as fast as they can and have fun. There aren't many places to pull over on the side of the road and on busy days they are mostly filled with spectators wanting to watch people go around the curves. So the police can't set up speed traps because they don't have any good places to park. They just drive around the Dragon and try to catch people driving really reckless and ticket them as a deterrent. About the fastest you get is probably 50 because there isn't much of a straightaway between the curves. You just feel like you are going a 100 because it's like you in a slalom race. You are constantly either jumping on the gas or jumping on the brakes and your fighting that steering wheel like you are mad at it. Lots of fun but it will wear you out after just a little while.

  12. A few photos. Driving on the Tail of the Dragon again on Sunday 5/23/21. Note the bike at the bottom. There are several curves on the Dragon like the one below where you come down a hill into the corner and the have to accelerate up the hill coming out of the curve. If I went into the corner fast and accelerated out really hard I could hear the rear tire rubbing the inner fender well. The camera the guys taking the photos use are so fast they don't show how fast the cars are going into the corners but let me tell you, everyone goes fast on the Dragon or you get run over. 🙂 The guys on bikes like this go all out like they are racing. Hundreds of them a day go up and down the 11 miles of the Dragon to take on the curves. A handful of them get killed each year on the Dragon from going over the side of the road into trees. There are no guardrails on the Dragon and the ravines are steep. Last year one of them ran off the road and it was over a week before they found him.

  13. So having completed the driver's side I can tell you those 8mm bolts are a royal pain. After being in there for 32 years two of them simply snapped off each one much too easily so I've had to drill the remaining pieces out and replace them with threaded bolts and nuts to hold things together. As it turned out both of them had ground up their nylon rollers to dust but the bellcranks were still in good condition. I've also repainted the plastic frames and bases of the openings with flat black as original so they'll look good as well as work like new and my 31 yr old son is really getting into this which makes it even better.

  14. Sounds like I'm doing the legwork for your mechanic that apparently knows nothing about a Reatta.
