I owned a Corvette C2 for quite a while. All rubber on a Vette is available but at great cost. Every Vette parts catalog lists "Pure-Silicone" tubes to rub on the rubber once a year. It really worked Murray

A few photos. Driving on the Tail of the Dragon again on Sunday 5/23/21. Note the bike at the bottom. There are several curves on the Dragon like the one below where you come down a hill into the corner and the have to accelerate up the hill coming out of the curve. If I went into the corner fast and accelerated out really hard I could hear the rear tire rubbing the inner fender well. The camera the guys taking the photos use are so fast they don't show how fast the cars are going into the corners but let me tell you, everyone goes fast on the Dragon or you get run over. 🙂 The guys on bikes like this go all out like they are racing. Hundreds of them a day go up and down the 11 miles of the Dragon to take on the curves. A handful of them get killed each year on the Dragon from going over the side of the road into trees. There are no guardrails on the Dragon and the ravines are steep. Last year one of them ran off the road and it was over a week before they found him.

So having completed the driver's side I can tell you those 8mm bolts are a royal pain. After being in there for 32 years two of them simply snapped off each one much too easily so I've had to drill the remaining pieces out and replace them with threaded bolts and nuts to hold things together. As it turned out both of them had ground up their nylon rollers to dust but the bellcranks were still in good condition. I've also repainted the plastic frames and bases of the openings with flat black as original so they'll look good as well as work like new and my 31 yr old son is really getting into this which makes it even better.

A Floridian always seeks shade but if I have to park a car in the sun or under trees for any length of time, I use a car cover. Also have a 15W 12v solar panel.
