  1. I've had a switch on my Reatta for years to turn off the TCC so it doesn't engage. I drive with it off most of the time when driving the back roads, which is what most of my driving is. Avoids all the locking and unlocking and makes the drive more enjoyable for me and the car is more responsive when you get on the accelerator. If I happen to drive on the interstate I flip it back on.

  2. Unfortunately, no photos, sorry. I'll try to keep this in mind for future mods. We did take a piece of masking tape and started on the outside of the door handle and kept the tape level and moved it around to the inside. Then with visualization, and measurement between the two nuts, the holes were drilled reasonably accurately.

  3. My note following the asterisks in the prior post. We actually couldn't access one of the bolts, so we had to drill two holes which accomplished the task. However, the hole drilled that Jim Finn thought would not be necessary turned out to be visible after reattaching the door panel. The visible hole, although small, was covered with a piece of black duck tape, and, except for the installers, no one is the wiser.

  4. Update. The door handle was installed by my brother. Took longer than expected (a little over 2 hours), but all is well. A case of beer was much cheaper (and more fun) than the $90 an hour at the dealer. Jim Finn provided some installation tips. I'll cut and paste below:

  6. It won't hurt the transmission to drive without lockup, just fuel mileage. I have a '90 also and it isn't as nice and clear as the touch screen cars, but page 8D-7 in the FSM has the chart you are looking for. It is actually just posted in the thread about the engine "bolts or lags" further down the screen. The climate control screen becomes the indicator for many items when in diagnostics. No special screen is required, just get into diagnostics and ecm data and the indicators are active. In this case, the "MED" fan speed illuminates when the TCC locks up and of course goes out when not engaged.

  7. Maybe Jim Finn, reattas60@gmail.com. It is an oddity that it appears to be made of steel in a location where it catches all the nasty stuff from the road, so an awful lot of them have rotted out. Barney Eaton on the AACA forum has posted about adapting another factory cooler, from a Caddy maybe. He posted photos of brackets that needed to be fabricated.

  8. Thank you guys for your input. I've decided there won't be a ROJ Facebook group. I don't think it would accomplish what I thought it might accomplish. My goal for a ROJ Facebook group would not be to attract more traffic to ROJ or take members away from other Facebook groups. The goal would have been to let more people on Facebook know about the How-to guides and other information that can be found here on ROJ. Although ROJ may not be as popular as Facebook, I take pride in knowing it has helped a lot of Reatta owners over the years.
