  3. Yeah this picture is from half way through the intake manifold gasket job I am currently undertaking. Everything but the manifold itself is removed here.

  4. I have an '89 with an '88 intake. When Kendall and I did an engine/tranny swap I found an '88 engine and swapped out the cam shaft and intake manifold. As a result I have an extra '89-91 intake manifold cover if anyone is interested. Make an offer!

  5. I suspect that the scraping of the lower valance is pretty common. With the long sloping hood, its tough to judge the distance to higher curbing and/or other fixed objects. My '89 was my wife's daily driver for over 10 years, and with her smaller stature, she had more of an issue with this than me. Guess that's why the front bumper has a number of minor little "dents" in the bumper molding - she says it shows "character."

  6. That low mileage Florida car must have been garaged and only driven in the dark. The paint appears impeccable and the owner says its original. The interior looks practically like new. My '89 (with 136K miles) has blemishes with the clear coat separating here and there and it was garaged, too.

  7. My '89 has red lettering on the engine. The build volume in 1989 totaled 7,009 units and mine is number 3,688 so I don't imagine that there was a hold-over between model years that spanned that number of builds.

  8. Hmm I only just noticed. My engine doesn't even have the 3800 lettering. ?.

  9. The man has no fear of the highway. He thinks no more about driving a 30 year old Reatta across the country than he does about driving it across town. ?
