  1. It shouldn't make any difference, but is this an original R12 system or a R134 conversion (or something else)? Just curious what the EU is doing regarding greenhouse effects. Just an anecdotal comment, but last year when I replaced my compressor and several a/c components, I checked the static pressure of over 80psi prior to discharge and refrigerant recovery. That sounded like a good amount to me but when drained and measured there was only six tenths of a pound in the system, or about 2 pounds low. Even if they exaggerated, the system was substantially low and yet the compressor would engage??

  2. Many Thanks for this information Ronnie. I'll be able to give the AC man some useful pointers when I see him.

  3. It is not in the kick panel if you are referring to the covering over the area forward of the passengers door frame. The panel we are referring to is horizontal below the glovebox area, above where your feet and lower legs are while riding. The colored vacuum tubing from the HVAC controller runs almost directly below the ECM, which is a metal silver box, and the three plugs are on the bottom. The HVAC controller module is on the far right side, also standing vertically but is black plastic. I can't take a photo as my ECM is laying on the floor for access to the EEPROM.

  4. I got up early with the intention of doing a simple tire rotation on the Reatta before it got too hot in the garage. Well, the first wheel I took off had a dry wall screw in the center of the tread. I usually plug my own tires but I couldn't find the tire plug kit anywhere. I took the wheel to the shop where I purchased the tires. The last time (several years ago) I took a tire to them they plugged it for free. Well Reatta fans that's not the case anymore. They told me their insurance prevents them from just plugging tires. They said now they have to remove the tire from the wheel and put a patch over the hole from the inside... and that's not free. After spending almost an hour waiting my turn to get a 15 minute job done I was headed home and my billfold was $14 dollars lighter. When I got home I went back to work rotating the tires. By then it was about 90 degrees in the garage. I was sweating so bad I couldn't hardly see. When I picked up a roll of paper towels to tear off one to wipe sweat with I discovered my tire plug kit behind it. Yeah, it's been that kind of day. ? I guess I should look at the bright side. It's better to have to go through hell in the garage than it would be if the tire went flat and left me stranded on the side of the road. ?
