Need to find an HVAC Controller module for my 1988 Reatta.

The blend box motor is not operating.  Have unit removed can't find anything close.

Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the forum! You can try Jim Finn .  reattas60@gmail.com  He is a reliable source for used Reatta parts. There may be someone chime in here as well that has the controller you need.

I don't think they are available anymore but it's possible you could find one sitting on some Buick dealers shelf.

I had the same issue with my 1989 Reatta - the HVAC controller was used on almost all of the big GM cars with electronic climate control. (1985-1993 Cadillacs, 1985-1990 Buick Electra, 1988-93 Oldsmobile 98 and Delta 88). I found one at our local Pick-N-Pull today for $6 and it worked perfectly!

Here is the interchange list - NOTE: Electronic Climate Control was an option on many of the cars, so they don't all have the module.

Climate Control System Module (1711325)

• 1985 -1990 Buick Electra

• 1986 - 1991 Riviera

• 1986 - 1993 Lesabre

• 1988 - 1991 Reatta

• 1991 - 1993 Park Avenue

• 1989 Estate Wagon

• 1988 To 1990 Pontiac Bonneville & SSE

• 1985 - 1993 Cadillac Deville/Fleetwood/Seville

• 1986 - 1991 Oldsmobile Delta 88

• 1987 - 1990 Oldsmobile Toronado

• 1988 1993 Oldsmobile 98

Thanks Guys. For the 1988 the actual GM part number is 16137750. It is listed as a programmer.

Part number 16144370 is listed as the programmer motor.

Turn out the motor and gear assembly, that swings the blend box door remove from the programmer.

Are you thinking maybe the motor can be purchased somewhere or that it can be repaired? I hope you can. If so, let us know.

May have gotten lucky here as after carefully separating  the motor assembly from the programmer unit.  Two 1/4 inch screw in top of box and unplugging from the board,  a better view was available.

Removing the three very small Phillips head screws form the top and forcing the directional switch off the lower gear axle the motor and transfer case gears came out cleanly.

In my case it appears the motor was stuck in the upper bearing casing.  Cleaning and greasing  freed up the small electric motor and it now operates on my work bench.

I took some photos but the seem to large to load.  May need some help will send them to anyone interested.

As an aside I found 1 motor for sale on Ebay for $122.00.  Motor only,  not the full programmer assembly.

Sounds like you might have fixed it. Good for you. Saved yourself some money. The forum size limit on photo uploads is 2 megabyte. Are your photos larger than that?
