Ronnie
Welcome to the ROJ forum Richard! We hope you come back often. There are several things the could cause the engine to stall and then start right back up. To find your problem you should start by seeing what trouble codes are stored in the Engine Control Module (ECM). Here are instructions for doing that. Write down any codes you find and post them here. That might give us a clue to what is causing the problem. Since you say you engine isn't stalling as long as you're moving, I would suspect the Idle Air Controller (IAC) might be dirty or defective. It is what is responsible for maintaining the idle at the correct RPM. Here are instructions for removing it and cleaning it. IAC Cleaning Instructions If you have additional questions feel free to ask.
AZ Ron
The drivability section of my 88's factory service manual says this can be caused by an EGR valve that is sticking open. Once again, we needs codes in order to help. There are several YouTube videos on how to clean an EGR valve if you should need to try that.
