Dash not coming on

I just recently bought an 88 to get daily drivable. It has been sitting since 2010 in a garage. It doesn’t currently run and I’ve already done some repairs on the obvious things. A new fuel pump and tank is coming in soon so I will hopefully be able to get it to run then. A pressing issue however is that the dash and courtesy lights will more often than not cease to work. They will work sometimes. While they are not working the CRT seems like it’s stuck in accessory, as you can only use the radio screen and not access anything else. I would appreciate any advice on what might be causing this issue.

Welcome to the forum!  Reattas have a lot of sensitive electronics so making sure you have a good, fully charged, battery is the first step before you start troubleshooting anything electrical. If the battery is good and fully charged the problem with the IPC and CRT could be a bad photocell that tells them to brighten up in the daytime and dim at night. Also, make sure the dimmer slider in the headlight switch is moved all the way to the right to make the dash and CRT as bright as possible when troubleshooting them.

Making changes to a Reatta one step at a time is the best way to go. If it were me I would concentrate on doing what is needed (good battery, good fuel pressure and spark at the plugs) in order to get the car to start and run before trying to get the CRT and other electronics to work. Then if the car won't run you will have to get the CRT working to properly diagnose the problem.

While you are waiting for the fuel pump read up on RAP in the How-to guides here on ROJ. Frequently RAP is he problem when only the Radio on the CRT will work.
