sarookha
One of my '90 coupes has an aftermarket steering wheel, so no airbag. An warning light on the dash display lets me know that the pneumatic restraint system is not functioning, and I'd like to turn it off. Is there a way I can couple the wires, maybe with a resistor in the circuit to convince it that the airbag is present and functioning? Or can I toggle this off in the OBD-1 system? ship
Try puling fuse #14 (I believe it might be labeled SIR).

I think you need to add a resistor to the circuit. I'm not sure of the value but it seems like I remember it being 3 ohms. You might be able to measure the resistance of the airbag to know for sure. Or maybe someone who knows will chime in.
sarookha Posted March 23 Topic Author Share Posted March 23 I'll check the airbag resistance on my fully-equipped car, great idea!
