Brake fluid for flush? DOT 3 VS 4 Regular vs Synthetic

I read the how to guide on brake fluid choices, it says DOT 3 and 4 are acceptable.  I thought I read somewhere else (facebook group_?) that DOT 4 was not acceptable.

I'm ok with DOT 3 but the next question is Reg vs Synthetic.?

I can get regular at autozone, but the DOT 3 Preston brand is Synthetic - one for 50k interval and one for 100k intervals.

Is DOT 3 synthetic OK with Teves?

thanks !!

As far as I know any DOT3 is acceptable, however, the system should be flushed every couple of years, so conventional type is what I use.
