90 Reatta fuel pressure

I have a 90 Reatta the fuel pressure at idle is 35 with the fuel pressure regulator hooked up when I disconnect the fuel pressure regulator the pressure goes up to 42 there's no leak down pressures normal when I turn the key on first goes up to 43 is this normal or is it too low the 35 at idle

Think the spec is 38-42 at idle but 35 will probably be OK. 3 psi might be inside the gauge error.

In my experience you are good to go. Gauge error of a couple pounds is not unusual as mentioned. Fuel pressure should drop approx. one psi for every two inches Hg of manifold vacuum. It should instantly increase fuel pressure in response to blipping the throttle.
