  2. Shouldn't that be "MYSTANG"?๐Ÿ˜
  3. Since this is a recent purchase, it would be a good idea to replace the O2 sensor just as a maintenance item. The comment about the o-rings above would seem to indicate perhaps some service work was performed incorrectly as well.

    Vacuum line

There should be no vacuum connection to the EGR system, which is all electrically operated. The line mentioned above does run somewhat near that area and it connects to both the HVAC and also supplies the cruise control vacuum system. It is possible the plastic line was displaced so it touched something hot enough to melt it.

    Vacuum line

I was looking under the hood of my 1990 reatta I saw a vacuum line curled up plastic Unattached That ran towards the firewall It is connected to the egr valve It was broken off to the left (Passenger side) inside the wiring harness I guess it controls the hvac Door Good Luck ELVIS
  6. I think if the injector rail is bolted down correctly, the injectors should be pushed into the manifold far enough to where you dont see the O-rings. Maybe a pic if what you see will help.
  7. I don't see how changing the timing chain could cause that code. Since it is sporadic the culprit might be a problem with the EGR valve. The EGR has three ports and one of them could be sticking in the open position randomly causing a lean mixture. I would check the EGR first before doing all the other work you described. BTW, you can open and close the 3 EGR solenoids using the onboard diagnostics while the engine is running to see how they respond. If you cycle them repeatedly maybe you can catch one of them sticking open when it should be closed.
  8. I started getting this code after my timing chain replacement on my 1988 Reatta. Just to preface, when I bought this car 2 months ago, my cam position sensor magnet had fallen out of the sprocket and I was getting the E041 code all the time. No E044 at that time. So since my car has 84K miles on it, I decided to just replace the timing chain, damper and water pump as well. All is now working fine, no more malfunction codes except E044 sporadically. I know from research many things can cause E044 to show up. My vacuum hoses are all good, but one thing I did notice on the fuel injectors. I have not taken them off yet, however it seems that the bottom o-rings are just sitting on the intake manifold and appear to be old. Could a leak here cause this code sporadically? It seems if they are not sealed good here, it could cause the computer to up the fuel mixture to more more fuel and cause it to be a little on the lean side. I will take those off and inspect them this week and put new o-rings on them to see if that makes a difference. I am open to other suggestions as well.
  9. Yeah, I took some pictures of my Reatta there. It's a popular place in the center of town for taking photos of cars. The mural is there to remind people that Kingston was once called the "peach capital". Over a million peach trees were planted in this area. It was a huge industry that died almost overnight when a blight hit the peach trees and killed them. My house sits on land that once a peach orchard. I always wonder who the old man in the mural is supposed to be and why he is looking so intently at the back of the young lady picking peaches. ๐Ÿ™‚
  10. Looking good Ronnie! Didn't we see that mural with your Reatta?
  11. I finally got a front license plate I like. It's a replica of a blue Tennessee license plate like is on the rear of the car. I think the blue goes well with the bright white paint. I still want some different wheels but not in a hurry to get them.
  12. How did you get that piece out?

Carpet removal / center console hump

Wow, thanks for the references! I guess I didn't do my homework enough, but I was able to figure it out with a bit of observational guesses. Next up is lots and lots of cleaning, but I can do that at my leisure.

    hood latch problem

The hood might just be stuck. Hold the hood release lever out and get someone to push up and down on the front of the hood and see if it pops up. I had this very same thing happen on an old Mercedes I bought and it took me quite a while to figure out why the hood wouldn't open.
  17. I put my Reatta into my back garage for the winter. When i went to get it the hood latch did not open the hood. I am sumewhat disabled and need some info. Is there a way to open the hood without the latch puller? Does anyone sell latch lever set up? Thanks in advance

    Headlight Motor

Well this isnโ€™t the first time this specific headlight motor has had this problem of not working for a while then all of a sudden working again. im going to assume itโ€™s gonna happen again. When it does? Any suggestions to diagnose it? Whats this about a brush inside the motor not making contact?

Be thankful and hope the problem doesn't return. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Headlight Motor

Before I had a chance to check it with a multimeter, it all of a sudden started working again. Any ideas?
  21. It's not apparent from the manual how to take that rear piece out

Carpet removal / center console hump

Hi, sorry! I'm trying to point at it in the photo, but it's the little hump piece between the center console/armrest and the back of the cabin. I've been hoping I wouldn't have to remove the back parts, but I suspect I'll have to. Taking the interior and carpet out has been a good little learning experience

    Headlight Motor

I would disconnect the motor and check the connector to see if 12 volts is getting to the motor when you try to open the doors.

    Headlight Motor
