Posti
I have looked through the shop manual and been unable to find the answer for this. Where does the car's odometer reading (mileage) get stored? Is it within the IPC or elsewhere? The reason I ask is that my IPC was dead when I got it, and the owner only had the mileage from when he bought it in 2005. The second IPC I installed had the left side out, so no reading again. A third IPC showed the mileage at 136,196 - finally, a reading! The fellow I got the third IPC from said he thought the mileage was stored separately in a module behind the glove box. That makes sense, and i am hoping that is correct, as it would mean i know the mileage on my car. And it would be pretty ironic, as I made a wild guess on mileage for the title and put down 137,000! Ronnie
Just a side note: If you need to change the BCM you don't lose the mileage of the car if you swap your old Prom into the new BCM.
