Dfk88
Okay so this is from what I can tell a simple fix but I can't seem to get the top part of the seatbelt off to fix the button, I partially just don't want to break it so I haven't tried prying too hard but I wanted to see if anyone here has experienced this and fixed it without buying a new seatbelt because to find a matching one is hard and I just think a newer one would look dumb. Thanks!!
Ronnie
I looked in my factory service manual (FSM) and I couldn't find anything about repairing the seat belt button. I guess it's because the factory or a mechanic wouldn't want to accept the liability for a repaired seat belt that would not work when needed. Your best bet would be to get a good used one and replace the bad one. Jim Finn (reattas60@gmail.com) is an honest vendor of used Reatta parts. There are several parts vendors on this forum as well that might have what you need.
DAVES89
There is no way to repair seatbelts. They are designed not to be repaired for liability issues. Ronnie recommended Jim Finn who is a great vendor. I would have to go to a You Pick yard to get one, so Jim might be quicker. BTW what color would you need? Not that the color is that critical as it is mostly hidden by a vinyl sheath.

I've got the nice tan interior so I preferably want one of that color, and I've seen YouTube videos of people doing it but I haven't seen one showing how to get the top off, from what I understand it's just a broken spring so all that needs to be done is get something's in there to occupy the space so there's enough pressure to keep keep the belt clicked into place

I found that one of his kids stuck a coin into the slot and using a bent pick I was able to remove it.

I don't think that's it simply just for the fact that half the button has no support and is always pushed down leading me to believe it's a spring, thanks for the reply! Snap the passenger belt together and while doing so you will see the button will move inward while snapping it together. There could be something down there holding the button in. (maybe not?) Ohhh I see what you mean I'll definitely take a look, although I think I want to replace both of them with the Cadillac version cause I thought they looked pretty nice, it would be cool if there were so,e custom reatta ones lol
