Tell me: Why is it saying I'm only getting 5 MPG? Is screen not accurate?

I noticed that my screen is telling me that I'm only getting 5 MPG average.

 

5 MPG on the screen can not be correct???

   Does your gas gage read properly?? If it does then it's just your on board information center. If all you do is drive around town and below 30-35 miles an hour chances are it will take the center quite a while to learn your driving habits. If you haven't done it all ready take the car to the open road and drive 60 70 miles a hour for about a hundred miles round trip and watch your mph, It should change. Anytime you lose power from the battery all information is lost and the process has to start all over again. Mine went from 0 to 24.5 when I did what I'm suggesting.
