TripleC321
How much wobble in a flywheel is normal? has the access cover off to tighten oil pan bolts, and noticed the flywheel has what appears to be a wobble when it’s running. 2seater
I don't see a lot of wobble, although there is a little movement. It is called a flexplate, essentially sheet metal, and is designed to have some flexibility. The crankshaft can have up to five or six thousandths of endplay and the torque converter floats in and out. I think some of the visual is actually the counterweight appearing and disappearing. 1
TripleC321 Posted August 10 Topic Author Share Posted August 10 I hadn’t thought about that, the counter weight rotating around.
