Greetings to the Reatta community.  I recently purchased a 1991 Reatta that was featured on Barn Finds, and listed on Ebay.  It was a one family car since new, in pretty nice shape, 63K. Red with saddle interior.  Not my favorite interior color, but the red/tan combo looks good enough for me. It was shipped from Cincinnati down to it's new home here in Florida.  Arrived on Tuesday, and has gotten a wash, clay bar, wax, and started fiddling with buffing out the oxidized tail light and front running lights.  Interior is in good shape, but will be totally gone through as well.  The only issue that does need attention sooner than later is the not cold AC.  I was amazed to see the car has a "service AC" light on the dash.  I will change out all the light bulbs to LED, upgrade all the speakers, and maybe the head unit to something modern with either XM or Bluetooth.   Looking forward to learning about this great car thanks to this site.  Peace, John

Welcome to the forum, John.  There is a wealth of information here along with a bunch of very knowledgeable people, too.  If you are not currently a BCA member along with a Reatta Division member, you might consider joining each club.  Buick Club Of America | Dedicated to the preservation and restoration of automobiles built by Buick ,     Reatta.org – A Division of the Buick Club of America

Look at that! Both a Mustang and a Reatta can coexist in the same garage!

Anybody here shed some light on these chrome rims on my Reatta?  I don't recall ever seeing them in any photo of Reatta's.  I think they set off the red paint of the car nicely, though20240804_174421.thumb.jpg.d0867410e9155b5e6fcc1be99ba33061.jpg.

It was a long process, with a Mercedes in the running at one point, but in the end a Mustang won the fight for a stall in my garage. 🙂

Great looking Reatta and the chrome wheels look good on it. I'm thinking those wheels might be Buick Regal wheels but I'm not certain of that.

I have those same wheels on my Regal. They were also used on other cars. I wonder what happened to your original 1991 wheels. They were pretty nice too. Much nicer then the 1988-1990 INMHO.

When considering a replacement radio, be mindful of the new pop up screen 1 DIN models.  A real worthwhile way to bring some useful 21st century features to our cars.  So far I have one in my 92 Jaguar XJS convertible and love it.  Ideally the Reatta I could swap spaces between the radio and cooling system module.

If I do go with the upgraded head unit, I would fully expect to upgrade all of the speakers.  They are woeful sounding, with a tinny crackle from the doors, and zero from the 6X9's in the back.  With the doors being two separate speakers, should I opt for a similar setup or just go with a coaxial speaker?  Thanks in advance for any input.  Peace, John

While component speakers are generally more expensive, that was the way the front speakers were designed and located for the best imaging. Just my opinion, but burying the tweeter portion down by your ankles is a step backwards. A two or three way in the rear seems to work fine.
