Yes, the replacement batteries for EVs are extremely expensive. My step mother is an insurance adjuster and recently she had a claim for an EV and the battery was damaged somehow. It was nearly 20K for the battery(s) alone.
Maybe look inside the fluid reservoir and see if the fluid level sensor/ float is stuck or dirty. Maybe the mechanic stuck a tube down in the reservoir to pull out old fluid and jammed it up. Just guessing 😉
The pressure switch is that vaguely green cylindrical item directly below the accumulator. The fluid level looks perfect if that is with the system pressure pumped all the way down. If that is with the system pressurized, it is too high, but it certainly isn't low🤨 Your underhood pics look super tidy.👍
It looks like Rogold is on the ball and provided a picture of the location. You are just looking for moisture, which will be brake fluid, inside the electrical connection. The pressure switch not only controls the start and stop of the brake pump it also contains switches for the warning lights. It is generally very reliable so this is just to cover a slight possibility.
Welcome to the forum. This will show you where the fuse is to disable the alarm. I've never done it before so I can't offer much help.
Alarm System - How To Disable
I had a feeling that was going to be the only option is finding a good used windshield. I live in Montana, and there are very few of these cars around these parts of the country. I have only encountered one other Reatta locally since taking ownership of mine in 2015. It came from Maple Grove, MN. where my mother lived and I inherited it after she passed away.
The headlight control module is only for opening and closing of the headlight doors. It has no control over the lights coming on. I assume your doors open as they should? Your problem might be a broken wire at the headlight connector. It is a common problem since the wires are constantly being twisted by the doors opening and closing. I've had it happen myself. The lights are connected together by a common wire. If I remember correctly, if a wire at one of the connectors breaks it can knock out the light on both sides.
Tomorrow is a car show that Kendall likes to go to. I will be taking the Red while Kendall will be taking is all original 1969 Pontiac GTO. It is really a nice car and has less then 30,000 miles. He spent the winter replacing gaskets and water pump. And then freshening up the engine compartment so it looks close to new.
I spent most of the day sprucing up my car. Looks pretty good, I won't be embarrassed.
