We made it just fine where i live. Not much wind at all and no flooding. Just a lot of steady rain. East of here as you start toward North Carolina is a different story. Don't know if there was much wind but flooding is a real problem in small towns in the mountains as you get closer to NC. I-40 is blocked in both directions right now. Below are photos my daughter sent me of I-40 near the TN and NC border. The river along there has cut under the pavement and washed all the dirt away. The hillside on the opposite side of the road is a solid rock wall so there is no cutting it down to move the highway over. It will probably be months before that stretch of highway is fully open again.

Ronnie, are you and your family OK vs. hurricane Helene?

Ronnie, the weather has not turned cold yet just ran out of places to drive the Reatta for this year. I'll switch over to the '00 Eldorado until the snow flies. Dave, I drove a whopping 453 miles in the Reatta this year!! I will most likely put a couple thousand next year driving round trip to the BCA Nationals next year along with local stuff.
-
How many miles did you put on it this year Ship? I plan on driving the Red about another month or so which will be when it needs an oil change. Then the Regal full time through the winter.
-
Is the weather turning cold already up there the reason for putting it in storage? I'm still waiting for the leaves to begin turning around here. That's my favorite time of year for driving here in TN.
-
Well, today (09/28/2024) I put the '91 Reatta in the igloo for storage 'til April 2025. I took it to its last cruise-in for the current season yesterday. Detail it, filled it with gas and seafoam, hooked up the battery tender, and placed the covered on it. Current mileage is 111019 and continues to run like a top. Current thinking is that I plan to drive it to the 2025 BCA Nationals in Concord, NC in July.

So I have read the postings on replacement of the horn button. One question....while I have placed the steering wheel in a north south position, I can only get the lower torx screws....how do I turn the steering wheel to rotate 180 degrees so I can reach the other side? Torx driver is too long without rotating...but that means reconnecting the battery with two screws out....just seems a little sketchy??

Received and installed the new clip from Jim Finn! Perfecto! THANK YOU!!!

Holy cow, that eBay listing wants $15 per piece on an individual basis. The Amazon 50 pack is a hell of a deal by comparison. Now whether or not they are as strong as OEM is the question, since all those listed there are aftermarket.
-
They’re also available on Amazon just type in the part number I pictured and they come up. I think it’s a pkg of 50 or less for like 18 or 19 bucks.
-
Available on eBay as of this morning, https://www.ebay.com/itm/272625856940

Moosefuel, I have a load of these (a 1 gallon bucket full, mostly used, but in good condition). Feel free to drop me a message here if you'd like, and we can work something out.
-
It's been several years ago. I guess they have been discontinued.
-
Here’s a picture of the part number you need can’t remember where I got the part but I believe they’re still out there. Good luck
-
When was that? I visited one today and they don't have those type.

Thanks for the replies. OK. All this must happen on hot days. The past few weeks it was in the mid to upper 80's when I started the car up and that is when it was high idling. Today the temperature was in the upper 60's and the start up idle was pretty normal. About 1000/1100 RPM's. Also, I drove the car around for about 15 minutes holding speed at 55 with the cruise control. Didn't need the heater or AC on and the temperature held steady straight in the middle at 12:00 on the temperature gauge. I will try the jumper idea to see if that does at least turn on the front fan. I'll keep you posted. Thanks!

Problem starting - No Crank, security light steady
ReattaMondatta replied to jglawnyc's topic in Reatta Owners Journal Forum
I have an intermittent starting problem exactly as droid described below... I have addressed all battery cable connections, fuses, most wiring connections. Bypassed the anti-theft. Next is to swap out the anti-theft relay, then move onto the starter... I have a 1990 and I am pretty sure the cream-colored block in the picture is the theft deterrent relay. But I am not sure. Can anyone confirm? This photo is above the parking brake & ALDL. (side question...Anyone know what the orange/black striped wire and black slip-on connection to the body is (with red-tipped bolt on the left side of these photos)? Looks like a ground for something. The male component is a flat copper connector.) -
The fans on a 90 operate in series for low speed and parallel for high speed. Three relays inside the underhood relay center operate the fans. The idle speed needs a bit more detail and as mentioned above, some increase is normal on a cold start.
-
I would see if the front fan is getting 12V. Jumper 12v to see if it turns on. The fans probably have two temp sensors running them... Both of mine run when the A/C is on... It's normal for the RPMs to up when the engine is first started.. How long does the high speed RPM last?

I have a 1990 Reatta convertible. I have 2 issues that may or may not be related. One is when I first turn on the car it idles very high. around 1800 to 2000 RPM. If I drive it around a bit, then stop and put it into park, the RPM's go back down to normal around 700/800 RPM's. The other issue is that the front engine fan (the pusher fan) wont go on at all when the engine gets hot. The back engine fan (the pulling fan) ONLY will come on if I turn on the heater/AC. Could this be the cooling sensor is not working? A bad wire or switch? Thanks!

Looking for Power Window Regulator and Motor Assembly
YoungReatta posted a topic in Reatta Owners Journal Forum
Hello, I have a 1989 Reatta I recently had my power windows go out. The rollers are disintegrated and we are fairly certain the regulator and motor are shot due to the window operating without rollers for a considerable amount of time. I am having no luck in finding a replacement from either a junkyard or in cross referencing part numbers. Would anyone know where to look or find the assembly?
