Idle again

Using the computer, I cut down the idle to where I want.  Now how do I lock that setting in so it won't change when I restart it.?

Please anyone.

I don’t know of any way to lock in an idle speed achieved through the diagnostic overrides. Pretty sure it must be burned into the chip

I would think there is a way to change it. I can change it with the incar computer ,but can't lock it in. If they let you change it, wouldn't there be a way to lock it in?

I think the overrides are for test purposes only and cannot be altered permanently without reprogramming the chip.

UP-Date:  Idle problem. (fast 2000rpm) Changed throttle position sensor, No change.

Changed all other sensors. No change. After reading the fine print in the shop manual

I discovered that the throttle sensor must be adjusted thru the computer.

o be set to the correct voltage. Takes two people, one in the car to watch computer

and one to adjust the sensor. I had to bend the tab on the sensor to get the correct voltage.

Guess what, the correct idle speed.
