Help! Stuck Cassette in Cassette Player!

ColoradoReatta

Recommended Posts

I made the mistake of putting one of my favorite old tapes in the Cassette Player of my new (to me) 1990 Reatta. It played great, but when I went to eject the tape, the eject button did not work. Tape is stuck and only makes clicking sounds like it's trying to switch sides or something. How do I get it out without damaging the tape or the player?

Thanks!

Have to remove and disassemble the tape deck to be gentle. I'd replace all of the belts at the same time, most likely one has broken.

The tape is described in Delco 1987 Auto Radio Manual 27D-1987-3F (used to be on our web site but GM made us take it down). May find on eBay.

"How to" top of the page. Written by some guy named Dave...

On a 90, about four screws. The radio is modular with a front display/contols, radio module, and a cassette module. GM used the same module in nearly everything.  For Reatta it was in the console 88-89, and in the dash 90-91.
