Padgett
Anyone know what would cause an 88-89 CRT to suddenly go to full width but only an inch high in the center ? Started doing about a month ago and looked like it tried to heal but no go. Finally just had to put a spare in but would like to repair this one. All I know is the CRT and Touchscream are separate and the CRT was made by Heath in Michigan. ps 86-87 Riv CRT will function but has a different layout. Ronnie
Old TVs with a CRT and vacuum tubes would do that a lot. My father-in-law (who has passed away) worked on TVs and could fix that problem. If I remember correctly he said the vertical amplifier circuit was bad causing the CRT to loose raster. Find an old TV technician and he will probably be able to fix it. Padgett Posted June 6, 2021 Topic Author Share Posted June 6, 2021 I am an old TV serviceman (once when on a recruiting trip for engineers. If an EE I asked if they knew how to fix a TV. Was told I shouldn't do that. Wonder if my Heathkit Ignition Analyzer has a similar circuit - have that schematic.
