Shop Manual Cover Rebinding
Written by Enoytsur - AACA Reatta Forum Friday, 28 November 2008 My 1990 Service Manual was
falling apart (I bought it that way on eBay for $ 30.00). I had it
rebound in a Hard Cover for durability and easy reading. I had the
bindery put the original Cover Page as the first Facing Page inside.
Though there were many options for what to have engraved, such as
John’s Service Manual, what font
to use, and what color to use for the Cover and the Writing I chose to
go basic. I am absolutely thrilled with the finished product.
Most binderies wanted $ 55.00 but one here in Sarasota will do it standard (as shown) with engraving for $ 15.00 … I paid $ 18.00 because I wanted extra words on both the Front and the Spine. Took exactly two weeks. The photos below give you an idea what to expect if you get it done. NOTE: The Zip Folder doesn't seem to work so if you want to see what the binder looks like send me your e-mail address and I'll e-mail you the Zip Folder. Sorry about that. In case anyone else is interested the owner’s name is Denise Littler … she has a passion for these manuals since she is a car collector herself (1968 VW) and does her own work on the car.
