88 Buick Reatta ECC malfunction/miscommunicating

Hi Reatta Community,

The touchscreen ECC on my 88 Reatta seems to be giving me mixed signals, or is miscommunicating. Only when I run diagnostic on the touchsceen does it tell me that basically everything is wrong with my car. For example, it will say it's overheating when I know for a fact it's not. I even go the the gages setting on the ECC and the temperature reads normal. Basically every diagnostic setting reads something wrong, including "computer communication problem detected". Any insight/wisdom would greatly be appreciated ??

Hi, It's common for new owners to be confused about diagnostics. This will clear up the confusion.

Why is CRT diagnostics telling me I have so many problems?

 

You probably don't have any problems if you aren't getting any warnings on the CRT and the check engine light is off.
